New York City To Launch Clothing Recycling Program With Goodwill
Yay! This is great news! (via PSFK)
New York City will launch one of the largest clothing recycling programs in the country starting this September. Under this program, around fifty collection bins will be placed in strategic locations around the city for people to conveniently donate clothing and shoes of any shape or state. The recycling program will be a big step towards a more sustainable urban ecosystem for the city, which witnessed over 190,000 tons of textiles dumped into its landfills in 2008. Some of the biggest names in non-profits including Goodwill Industries International and Wearable Collections are bidding to host the collection bins. Officials behind this recycling initiative say that if successful, it will influence other cities to undertake such programs.

I am at the Blogher Business Conference and Em Hall is talking about DC Goodwill Fashion Blog. Check out the site to bid on items on eBay or if you are in DC go to the stores in the area. This is definitely GPD08.
